Shopping In North Devon

If you really love shopping and in need of some retail therapy then North Devon has a great deal to offer, from historical pannier markets that have been running for family generations to the well known brands and stores that we all know and love today. Shopping in North Devon is a delightful experience with a variety of shops in Barnstaple highstreet or you can always visit the outskirts of town for B&M, Sainsburys, Dunelm, Homebase and other known brands.

If the idea of cooking fresh local food while you are on holiday in one of our properties is for you, we would highly recommend one of the farmers markets in North Devon, fresh food tastes better in comparison to the supermarket (well we think anyway) But of course we are lucky to have Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys, Lidls and Farmfoods in Barnstaple too.

The shops in Barnstaple high street and in particular Green Lanes shopping centre in Barnstaple are a delight for shopaholics from major high street chains like Pandora, Primark, New Look, TK Max, Boots, Wilkos and M&S right through to smaller independent traders that cannot be found anywhere else. During the run up to Christmas there's late night shopping in Barnstaple which is usually on a Thursday, the shopping centre in Barnstaple comes alive with entertainment for the children, Santa's grotto and of course the beautiful Christmas lights that decorate Barnstaple high street.

Our main shopping outlet is located in Bideford, Atlantic Village with an impressive 35 designer stores and massive savings throughout the year in comparison to the main high street stores.

For quaint boutique stores and special holiday souvenirs, we can recommend a visit to Ilfracombe. The seafront and harbour is filled with a selection of quirky and unusual gifts that are perfect for taking back home, why not make an afternoon of it and enjoy fish and chips on the seafront wall (Just mind the seagulls) Ilfracombe highstreet has a good selection of eateries, cafes and shops to keep you entertained, Ilfracombe also has the BEST chocolate shop in the area and is well worth a visit to stock up, there's even a chocolate museum with a life sized chocolate man !!

Whatever shopping in North Devon you plan on doing, we are sure the area has all basis covered, enjoy and try not to eat all the chocolate on the way home in the car !
